Junior & Advanced Summer Clinics

Elite FF has just concluded its Summer Junior and Advanced Clinics! These clinics were 3 days of working hard, having fun, and dreaming big! We know that there are endless amounts of opportunities in women’s football. Elite FF wants to be the platform that enhances and challenges young females to be there best, taking advantage of each opportunity that is given to them. By combining demanding training techniques with positive reinforcement, confidence and quality will be instilled in every Elite FF player. The Summer Clinics allowed the girls to participate in a very professional training environment, hopefully retaining as much football knowledge as possible.

Advanced Clinic girls celebrating a win!

Each clinic consisted of 3 days of technical, tactical, and theoretical football work. In a technical session, we had former Matilda, Ash Brown, run drills focused on footwork, ball control, scanning, etc. We then had New Zealand National Team player, Rebekah Stott, come in and run a session working on first touch, movement on and off the ball, etc. Charlee West, physiotherapist at Beleura Health was one of our other guest coaches, working on strength and conditioning technique. Focusing on and perfecting the basics in the technical sessions, allowed us to easily transition when it came to the tactical part of the clinics. The Elite FF coaches worked with the girls tactically in a series of rondos and games on how to properly read a play, affect a play, and make the correct decisions based on the situation around them. Our theoretical sessions were a way for us to make sure we were educating and inspiring young players on and off the field. Ash Brown spoke to the girls about her incredible football journey through being a young Matilda, winning the W-League Young Player of the Season, and all the hard work it takes to get there. Another theoretical session led by Rebekah Stott, included her football stories and memories (like the time she played table tennis with Neymar Jr. at the Olympics)! Charlee West also led a theory session, where she focused on the importance of pre-activation, strength and conditioning, injury prevention, and nutrition! Lastly, a unanimous fan favourite, Steph Cately, captain of the Matildas, came and met the girls, sharing her stories, answering their questions, signing autographs, and taking photos with every one of the girls!

The Elite FF Summer Clinic was a great success! We wanted to give a HUGE shout out to the sponsors, coaches, and girls for everything they helped us with! Our continued goal is to be a stepping stone for girls on the pathway to reaching their full football potential. That wouldn’t be possible if we didn’t have incredible female coaches, quality apparel & equipment, elite facilities, and most of all talented and passionate footballers. Thank you everyone. Let’s make this the best year yet!
